Half Way There

Half Way There

My good friend Steve Pool dropped by my studio two weeks ago with his cameras and microphone and told me to relax, keep working and talk about the project I was working on.  I mumbled for 30 minutes and he still managed to edit it into a film that, to my big surprise, sounds more coherent than I was on the day he filmed me.

A little over half way through this project it is all still very much a journey towards that moment of going public. I haven't quite worked it all out, I'm not sure if all the strands sit well together.

But here it is for now: Half Way There

On the 18th September Henk and I drove his super duper acqua marine blue pick up truck to Bewdley and Ruskin Land to collect the last 3 pieces of the tree he felled earlier March.  After several attemts to start the chainsaw we ended up cutting these to size by hand and then had some help from two mighty strong female woodland workers to lift them onto the flatbed trailer we had brought along.

We then quickly gave a presentation to the Board members of The Guild of St George's who responded warmly and encouragingly to the work we showed them.  A top day for us.

This week we showed the pod structure to the curator at Museums Sheffield as it is nearing completion.  And yes ..... it has been compared to the Joe 90's machine.  I have never seen the programme but it sounds like it made quite an impact in the 1960s!
